DEMMEÅSEN SOLAR PROJECT

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Landinfra Energy is investigating the possibility of building a solar park for the production of renewable energy near Demmeåsen in Halden municipality in Norway. The area that Landinfra is investigating covers an area of 262.7 hectares and is located in about 8 kilometers northeast of Halden in the county of Østfold, a region in need of new production of electricity.

The planned wind farm has a potential capacity of around 192 MWp, which provides an opportunity to produce around 219 GWh of electricity each year, enough to produce household electricity for around 13,000 Norwegian households.

Provided that the project receives the necessary permits, the plan is to start construction in 2026/2027 in order to be able to put the wind farm into operation in 2027/2028.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE PROJECT

Landinfra intends to start the permit process for Demmeåsen’s solar park in Halden municipality. As part of this work, Landinfra submitted a report in the spring of 2024 with a proposal for an investigation programme to the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE). The next step in the process is a decision from NVE to send out Landinfra’s documentation for the project for consultation for reference to landowners, neighbours and other stakeholders linked to the project.
