Kölbygärde solar project

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Landinfra is planning to build a solar park along the E22 highway, just east of Ljungbyholm in Kalmar Municipality, Kalmar County. The project area under consideration covers approximately 39 hectares, spread across two properties: Kalmar Kölbygärde 2:1 and 1:40. If the park is constructed, it could have a total installed capacity of around 28 MW and produce fossil-free electricity for approximately 40 years.

PROJECT UPDATES

In August 2024, a application for an environmental permit was submitted to the County Administrative Board of Kalmar. The application was publicly announced in the first quarter of 2025, and a decision is expected during the second quarter.

E.ON is currently investigating the possibilities of connecting the solar park to the power grid, while work continues on the design of the park.
