Nesskogen solar project
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Landinfra Energy is exploring the possibility of building a solar farm for renewable energy production at Nesskogen in Grue Municipality, Norway. The area under consideration by Landinfra covers 73.9 hectares and is located about 12 kilometers southwest of Kirkenær in Grue Municipality, a region in need of more electricity. The proposed solar farm has a potential capacity of approximately 64 MWp, which could produce around 62 GWh of electricity annually—enough to supply household electricity to about 4,150 Norwegian homes.
Provided the project obtains the necessary permits, construction is planned to begin in 2027, with the goal of commissioning the farm in 2028.
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE PROJECT
Landinfra also intends to initiate the permitting process for the Nesskogen solar farm in Grue Municipality. As part of this work, Landinfra submitted a “Melding med forslag til utredningsprogram” – a Notification with a proposal for an assessment program – to the Norwegian authority Norges Vassdrags- og Energidirektorat (NVE) during the summer of 2024.
The next step in the process is for NVE to decide whether to send Landinfra’s project documentation out for consultation to landowners, neighbors, and other stakeholders connected to the project.
